Your Well-Being Is in Good Hands

At Cedar Canyon Counseling, PLLC, we seek to help our patients discover the best parts of themselves. Sometimes it's something that has happened in your life or you may have made some mistakes.  Whatever the cause, if you're looking for help in finding yourself again, please give me a call today!

Putting Patients First

Maybe you're feeling down or anxious.

Constantly triggered into a fight, flight or freeze response.

Or just don't care!

Maybe you're unsure about the future of a relationship, or just feel that you aren't living the life you were meant to lead.

Whatever your needs may be, I am here to offer support, and an ear to hear you and be present with you through the pain.

Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery

In my sessions, I use psychotherapy methods to instill self-understanding among clients, offering tools to cope and strategies that work.

Therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix.

Therapy is a healing process that takes a team-effort from therapist and client alike.

Making small changes to behaviors and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results.

What does therapy look like?  Isn't it just telling you my problems??

Mental Health Therapy is more than just talking about your problems. It is a supportive and collaborative process that helps you gain a better understanding of yourself, process difficult emotions, and develop new coping strategies to bring about lasting change. Through this process, you will be able to gain insight, learn new skills, and create a plan for a healthier, happier life.

Typically, sessions last about 50 minutes long and we will meet once a week for about 6-weeks, then discuss future sessions from there.  Sessions are catered to your needs, however, and we can stretch out therapy to once every two weeks or even monthly, if needed.

Hello

My name is Theresa.  I offer affordable, professional counseling to my clients, treating them as unique individuals, who have dealt with many challenges but are seeking a better life for themselves.

I especially enjoy working with adolescents and adults dealing with trauma, mood disorders, and those dealing with stresses and life transitions such as divorce and infidelity.

I am a 20+ year veteran, so I have first-hand knowledge and understanding of military life.

I also have a special heart for families with autism, understanding the unique stresses of life of those with a child/ren in the autism spectrum.

My goal is to help you feel safe and find serenity in life by offering a judgement-free zone where we can briefly explore some painful experiences, and finding resolutions to problem/difficult areas.  We will work together towards your treatment goals, whether you need weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly appointments.

I believe in-person sessions are more beneficial but also offer virtual appointments for those that prefer to meet from the comfort of their own home.

I am currently unable to accept new clients due to my schedule at Pecan Valley Veteran's Services.  If, however, you are a veteran or immediate family member of a veteran, please give us a call at (817) 579-4489.

If you're not a veteran and still need a counselor, please check out www.psychologytoday.com to search for a counselor who may fit your needs.

“As long as you keep secrets and suppress information, you are fundamentally at war with yourself…The critical issue is allowing yourself to know what you know. That takes an enormous amount of courage.”
